Network Rail chairman Sir Peter Hendy revealed the hobby of England’s deputy chief medical officer Jonathan Van-Tam as he spoke about the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on train services.

It’s a wonderful hobby and a great way to escape the pressures of everyday life – especially in a pandemic. Hornby has reported an increase in sales as a result of lockdown.

It puts Professor Van-Tam’s love of a train analogy into context.
